Here is a non-dairy, low-calorie, easy snack! Keeping it here for future reference…
Recipe below; a few things you need to know: To double-ferment the Kefir (lots of health benefits; you will need to google them), leave the kefir on the countertop for 24 hours, then refrigerate (I know this sounds weird, but it really works)!
I buy the protein powder from Trim Healthy Mama (THM). You can buy it here (I am currently not an affiliate for them; I’m just sharing a product I love!)
For sweetener: I’ve been using Pyure but they seem to have recently had a significant price increase and possibly a change in formulation (so sad). So currently I am trying this homemade sweetener.
- 1/2 cup low-fat, double-fermented Kefir
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp sweetener
- 2 Tbsp THM Creamy Dreamy Protein Powder
- Lotsa ice
Combine in blender and blend away!
Using the products I use, here is the breakdown of the macronutrients:
- Calories: 112
- Fat: 2
- Carbs: 5 net carbs (8 total carbs – 3 fiber)
- 15g protein!!! (The THM Creamy Dreamy Protein powder is a game changer!)
